Sounds heavenly, till you realise that millions of steps ahead of you stand the ultra-rich who savour these pleasures every single day. With their sheer wealth, they buy penthouses that not only sit on very prime districts, but are also decked in luxurious furnishings and amenities that sing to the tune of our Crazy Rich Asian fantasies.

1. The Orchard Residences – Landmark on top of ION

Those who’ve watched the film The Social Network may remember that moment when Eduardo Saverin, Facebook’s co-founder, finds out his shares plunged deep to a measly 0.03%. Sounds very tough, especially considering how successful this CEO came to be.
Still, remember that movies are not reality, even more so in this case. To set the record straight, Saverin has several luxury homes in Singapore under his name, one of which is a 5,000sqft penthouse in The Orchard Residences.

Built on top of ION Orchard itself, The Orchard Residences is the tallest landmark building in the prime shopping district. Residences have a hold of frills such as 2 sky lounges, a wine and cigar room, as well as a swimming pool area that gives you a bird’s eye view of the bustling streets below.
Currently, the units are valued on average $3.4k psf.

2. Reignwood Hamilton Scotts – “Sky garages” connected to unit

Looks like the rich truly get away with everything, and this time, it’s the sky-high COE prices.
While residents of Reignwood Hamilton Scotts can easily purchase fancy sports cars to flex on the streets, they even get to display it in their very own ensuite elevated sky garage built in between the living rooms.

Being one of the most unique condos in Singapore, Reignwood Hamilton Scotts is the very first in South-East Asia, and is the tallest development globally to offer the sky garage amenities.
Apart from the breakfast services and full concierge, which is already rare in most condos, residents also get to enjoy the unadulterated views of Goodwood Hill with its pretty hilltops and colonial bungalows.
Address: 37 Scotts Road, Singapore 228229
3. Marina Bay Residences – 4-storeys for $111M

Featured in many tourist postcards, Marina Bay Sands is no doubt the darling of Singapore’s impressive skyscraper.
What most people may have overlooked amidst our skyline, though, is Marina Bay Residences, the luxe development opposite that houses what has been crowned the most expensive condo unit in the island at $111M.

With a square footage of a whopping 23,263sqft, this space is made up of 4 contiguous units, culminating into a 4-storey multi-generational penthouse.
It spells glitz and glamour inside and out, with an exquisite interior that blesses the occupant with an unadulterated view of the financial district. There’s even a 25m rooftop pool on the viewing deck on top. But well, the unit comes with a price tag clearly made of gold, so what exactly can we say?

4. Wallich Residences – 290m-tall overlooking the CBD

Wallich Residences is a name that can be found in Singapore’s record book for 2 reasons: it’s the tallest building in the country standing proud at 290m, and has a super penthouse.
The same one was purchased by Sir James Dyson at $73.8M in 2020, which marked the country’s most expensive transaction for a condo before being dethroned by the $111M MBS penthouse condo.

It takes effort to be the Taipei 101 of Singapore, as Wallich Residences needed to obtain a special licence for its height to exceed Singapore’s imposed restrictions of 280m.

Needless to say, the process was 100% worth it. On top of having a Cloud 220 space which comprises a library and mini theatre, residents get to enjoy the infinity pool which has a greater vantage point over the CBD and the neighbouring seafront, as compared to most hotels.

5. Reflections at Keppel Bay – View of pier & harbourfront

Many times, it is through luxury homes and condos that Singapore gets to show off its architectural prowess. Take Reflections at Keppel Bay, a megacondo development designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind that’s located along the Greater Southern Waterfront.

A key feature of this development is its designer clubhouse.
Taking on an unconventional facade, the clubhouse is intricately lined with glass and aluminium in a jigsaw-like manner, enabling it to shine like a jewel under sunlight. Because the structure is relatively complex, it is said that Libeskind took 2 years to complete the design before taking a year to construct it.
Penthouses built in this development are generally duplexes, with a rooftop terrace and private jacuzzi. You could say that these residents are oh so blessed – just imagine soaking in the warmth of the jacuzzi amidst the cool air, as you get to relish the picturesque coastal sunset with sounds of the city in the background.

6. Concourse Skyline – Tailoring & private jet services

Just a minute’s drive away from Arab Street and Haji Lane stands Concourse Skyline, another uber-rich condo that’s worlds apart from the nearby indie enclaves. Joining the elite circle of the most expensive condos in Singapore, Concourse Skyline has a super penthouse that transacted for $48M in 2019.

The unit has a good handful of infinity stones in its own right, where its 5 rooms have views of Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer and Singapore Sports Hub respectively.
Amongst all its luxurious offerings, the cherry on the top would be its personal tailoring services offered by The Bespoke Club; not to forget that residents get 40 hours of aircraft charter on an actual private jet. Cue Kingsman, but in mega rich CEO mode.

For us everyday folks, furniture from Crate and Barrel is already quite the treat that we splurge on occasionally.
Not for the high rollers though; at 3 Orchard By The Park, your penthouses will come in full gucci gang, fully furnished with curated designer pieces from brands like Ralph Lauren and Bocci.

This freehold development was designed by architect Antonio Citterio, whose portfolio also includes the Bulgari Hotel group – no wonder why the units are decked in luxury pieces. Penthouse residents also have their very own private lap pool within their balcony, which overlooks the Orchard-Tanglin vicinity.

In a world where many developments strive to be as carbon-free as possible, the role of landscape architects has become all the more sought after in order to breathe green lungs into spaces.
A newbie in the luxury condo scene since April 2020, 15 Holland Hill has likewise positioned itself on an elevated hilltop, and is surrounded by lush greenery curated by Rambo Studio Dreiseitl.

With nature integrated into the design of the penthouse units, several communal planters and ponds are placed along the foyer, as well as the living and dining rooms.
To make the unit more like our ideal world, all bedrooms come with an attached bathroom.
