This stunning 4-storey sky villa is Singapore’s most expensive condo unit at $111M and it’s made up of 4 contiguous penthouses.

It seems like not too long ago that Sir James Dyson broke the internet – in Singapore, at least – with his purchase of Singapore’s most expensive penthouse unit for $73.8M. Since then, the property market has seen new highs with luxury condominiums such as Les Maisons Nassim swooping in to steal the spotlight from Wallich Residence.

We’re not even going to talk about the uber-luxurious EDEN and its $293M bulk sale. Just last year in 2021, a new condo claimed the title of the “Most Expensive Condo Unit in Singapore”, and that property is none other than Marina Bay Residences with its $111M sky villa.

$111M Marina Bay Residences penthouse in the sky

The first thing to note about Marina Bay Residences is that while location-wise, the condo sits on prime property, it’s a 99-year leasehold condominium that comprises both commercial shops and a hotel. With almost 905 residential units to offer, the most prestigious of these is without a doubt the property’s $111M penthouse.

$111M is a lot of money to spend on a condo unit. Perhaps it helps that the “penthouse” of Marina Bay Residences is actually made up of 4 contiguous penthouses to make one mega unit that spans 4 floors and comes with its own 25M rooftop lap pool and viewing deck. In that sort of scenario, the square footage for this goliath of an apartment would be 23,263sqft.

The four contiguous penthouses are made up of 1 simplex 5-bedder penthouse, 2 duplex 4-bedder penthouses, and 1 5-bedder triplex penthouse.

The listing initially comprised 5 penthouses in total and listed for a price of $138M, but one of the simplex penthouses was quickly snapped up by a Singaporean buyer in September 2021. It was also reported that the buyer had purchased the penthouse in his newborn’s name and paid a handsome sum of $19.35M for the 4,489sqft space.

Let’s peek into one of the five penthouses to get a clearer idea of what one “living space” in this multi-generational mega penthouse looks like:

Each Simplex Penthouse spans 4,478sqft and has floor-to-ceiling windows around the entire perimeter to give you sweeping views of Marina Bay Sands and the glittery financial district from the living, dining and all bedrooms of the house.

It also comes with its own pantry or open bar, and a concealed wet kitchen to conceal all the fumes of cooking. The corridor behind the dry kitchen leads to the bedrooms, bathrooms and family theatre.

And this is just the Simplex penthouse is just the tip of the iceberg as the most modest of the 4 penthouses. One can expect an open roof terrace and private jacuzzi in the Duplex penthouse and double-volume ceilings, spacious roof terraces, a 25M lap pool and a viewing deck at the very tip of the Triplex penthouse.

$111M Marina Bay super penthouse for sale

We’re always enamoured by multi-million-dollar properties and this Marina Bay Residences super penthouse is no exception. While a price tag of this sort is way out of the range of ordinary men, we can’t deny the existence of the super-rich among us.

We’ve been seeing a rise in the number of transacted Good Class Bungalows (GCBs) in recent years with a substantial number of these prime properties being snagged by prominent CEOs and entrepreneurs. And if there’s one thing we’re certain of, it’s that this won’t be the last of the luxury home purchases in 2022.
While this super penthouse is still on the market, with its excellent location and panoramic views, we won’t be surprised if one – or all – of the remaining penthouses get snapped up soon.
