Singapore might not have a Disneyland, but that didn’t stop this couple from turning their HDB flat into a shrine celebrating 2 of Disney’s most beloved characters, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Designed by Fifth Avenue Interior, this Rivervale Walk HDB has a precise colour scheme, themed decor, and tons of collectables that make it look like a bite-sized House of Mouse and is a design project that left us in awe of the unparalleled attention to detail.

From walls to door frames and even the sofa chair, the bright red hue mirrors the exact shade of Mickey’s iconic shorts, with white accents representing Mickey’s button details and black to match his body.
Though a yellow sofa chair may initially seem out of place, those with attention to detail will notice that the colour perfectly matches Mickey’s signature yellow shoes.
Adding to the theme, gigantic Mickey and Minnie plush toys reign over 2 piles of smaller companions on either side of the television, while big black letters above the entire set-up spell out “MICKEY” – leaving no room for ambiguity about the home’s design inspiration.

The entrance to the kitchen is marked by 2 prominent displays – a Disney 100 Lego castle encased in a prominent glass case, and a giant Mickey Mouse mosaic artwork.
Assembled with classic black and white tiles, the mosaic piece pays homage to the early renditions of Mickey Mouse cartoons, adding a nostalgic touch. The kitchen interior follows the flat’s primary colour scheme, featuring a black and white foundation complemented by plush red bar chairs and matching kitchen appliances on floating open shelves.

The bathroom features a matching Minnie Mouse mosaic piece – an almost-exact replica of the Mickey mosaic, with the addition of Minnie’s signature polka-dotted red bow. Similarly, a gold-framed vanity stand sits beside the sink, crowned with the same unmistakable red bow.
Above the sink, a circular mirror adorned with a Disney quote from Beauty and the Beast imparts whimsical wisdom to the space. Meanwhile, a bright red faucet, Mickey-shaped black soap dispenser, and Disney-themed mini mirror propped against the wall serve as a testament to the homeowners’ close attention to detail.

Nestled beside the kitchen, the entrance to the cosy room features a glass sliding door complete with an old-school Mickey and Minnie cartoon design, with a built-in glass cabinet above the door frame dedicated to showcasing an impressive array of Disney collectables.
Inside the room, a unique black swing chair – with 2 woven circular details that cleverly resemble the classic Mickey ears design – immediately catches the eye. Themed pillows add warmth and charm to the space, while a cute red Mickey tissue box completes the whimsical ambience.

Other decor details include elements such as a Disney-themed puzzle as well as mini Mickey wall stickers and figurines balanced atop light switches.
