A 732sqft 2-bedder condo can seem like too little space to enact your renovation dreams. But for influencers @furnishingshiba, this is more than enough to create an eclectic and colourful $23k condo reno. With plenty of natural lighting, bright colours, and tinted bulbs for parties and hangouts, this home just channels “Good Vibes Only” energy.
A $23K 2-bedroom condo reno
One of the biggest first impressions you’d get from this home is simply how bright it is. The large floor-to-ceiling windows definitely helped, but the homeowners also leaned into it by having white walls and adding vibrant colours into the space.
The furniture pieces are decidedly mid-century modern, and the bright shades chosen for these pieces really help make the place feel casual and energetic. @furnishingshiba states that one of their favourite aspects of this unit is that despite being a 732sqft home, the 3.2m ceiling height helps to make the home feel spacious.
Studio-esque compact kitchen and cafe-style coffee nook
The bright, positive energy might be the first thing you notice, but the main star of this home would have to be the dining room. They’ve continued the theme of simple backgrounds punctuated with spots of colour, this time being a couple of acrylic chairs and two cute yellow pendant lights above the dining table.
What makes this area special though, is its central role in the day-to-day routine of its homeowners.
Starting off, the homeowners definitely are big coffee connoisseurs, with a small coffee nook created to house all of the paraphernalia for it. The Good Vibes neon sign is classy and for the homeowners, it gives the space a hip cafe vibe. With the mood lighting available here, this area also undergoes a fun exciting transformation on game nights.
Little trinkets and posters help add to the fun cafe vibe of the dining area.

At night, the dining area takes on the style and pizazz of a casual bar, and even the table itself can be converted to hold a pool set. The Good Vibes neon sign definitely contributes to that effect, and the uncluttered nature of the home means that it can hold more guests than you’d expect it to.
The red mood lighting from the sunset lamp gives it an almost underground club feel too.

Versatile & functional balcony space

The balcony is another venue for hangouts in this home, with the picnic-style table set having been host to plenty of meals, drinks and even hotpot sessions. With the outdoorsy nature of the balcony, it almost feels like the homeowners get to enjoy alfresco dining right from the safety of their home.
Given the size of the home, the balcony also functions as a place to do the laundry, as well as a storage area for the homeowners’ bicycles.

A delightfully simple two-tone bedroom
The bedroom is wonderfully minimalist, with plenty of space for arranging the furniture. This is partly because @furnishingshiba likes changing the layout of the room once in a while, and has yet to settle on how the room would look like in the future. There are also no built-ins at all as a result.
The duotone nature of the home was influenced by Pinterest and Instagram, but was born from the homeowner’s desire to have a room with coloured walls.
A vibrant, eclectic & colourful $23K condo reno
Whilst most would understandably have ambitious plans to recreate things they’ve seen on Instagram or Pinterest, sometimes the approach could instead be a happy, fun-loving home instead. With the casual, laid-back vibes that this eclectic and colourful $23k condo reno exudes, perhaps you might want to consider something simple and minimalist too for your next home reno.
