Truth be told, most people will never live a life of luxury in a grand castle like the Bridgertons. However, that didn’t stop one family from building a bungalow with an interior that could rival a K-drama set or the casino at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. We’re talking about some elaborate cornices with cove lighting, a majestic circular staircase, and marbled floors for days.

The 2.5-storey bungalow in Siglap is currently on the market for a whopping $16.8M, which at a total of 15,000sqft means it averages at $2,800psf. If you want to check out how you can live like royalty without being an actual royal, here’s a peek into this stately home on the East side of Singapore.

History of the house

According to the listing on PropertyGuru, the bungalow was built around 18 years ago and it sits on freehold land. It was originally called Stella’s Villa, and its exterior is a contemporary take on shingle-style architecture.

It then was given a modern, grey facelift sometime before 2019, although the owners still kept the ornate double front doors and styling up the pillars even further. However, most passersby wouldn’t be able to guess how the home’s interior could look so vastly different from its facade.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a dramatic entrance down a winding staircase like Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, this house will let you recreate your favourite Queen B moments in style. On the main floor and the second floor of the house, an opulent circular staircase sits right in front of the double-height windows.

The foot of the stairs is flanked by 2 classic columns, which are in turn flanked by 2 smaller columns that will be great for displaying whimsical floral arrangements.

The space also looks like it can be converted into a small ballroom for private soirees, limited to only the VVIPs. If you’re not feeling up to climbing a flight of stairs to your new bedroom, there’s always a lift to ferry you up one floor.

Billiards room, pool, and karaoke space for entertaining

Elsewhere in the house, there are separate spaces dedicated to various entertainments. For instance, there’s a whole room just for you and your kakis to play billiards. In another corner of the house, there’s a karaoke room for you to sing to your heart’s content without worrying about embarrassing yourself.

Of course, you could always convert the karaoke room into a mahjong den if you want to recreate the vibes at The Bellagio Casino in Vegas. In the front-left corner of the home is also a mid-sized pool. Unfortunately, it’s not available in pictures, so you’ll just have to use your imagination.

Grand bedrooms

It’s not just the main areas that have that wow factor, as even the bedrooms are jaw-dropping. The master bedroom that can comfortably fit a Californian King bed is fit for both a king and a queen. The cove ceiling with a feature arch is likely the most impressive part of the room, adding a next-level grandeur to the space.

There are 2 of these master bedrooms along with 2 junior bedrooms that we’re sure are equally as grand. All of them are located on the second level of the house.

On the third floor there is a “Super Master Room” that can be anything from an exclusive master suite to a mini-museum for all the art you might be collecting.

Bathroom with freestanding jacuzzi

An opulent bedroom has to be accompanied by a similarly-opulent bathroom, and the master ensuite does not disappoint. It takes his-and-hers sinks to the next level, putting one sink on opposite ends of the wall just because they can.

And who needs a soaking tub when you can have a roomy jacuzzi sitting in the middle of the bathroom for the homeowners to unwind after a long day.

$16m opulent bungalow in Siglap

If buying a castle in England or France is out of your budget, perhaps this $16M bungalow in Siglap might be the answer instead with its dreamy staircases and opulent bedrooms fit for the noblest residents.

The house is also near St. Stephen’s School and Opera Estate Primary School, making it great for growing families. Kembangan MRT is also only a 10-minute walk from the front gate. Although if you could afford $16m for a property, you can afford the luxury of a chauffeur.

Those who want to kaypoh more of the house can check out the listing on PropertyGuru.
