With its large sofa, spacious interior, and minibar, it’s easy to mistake this HDB home for a cosy Airbnb listing. And while you can’t book a weekend getaway here, this $120K 4-room HDB renovation offers all the creature comforts for a pleasant get-together with friends and family.
A look into the current layout of the home.

Defying the trend of unusual HDB layouts being avoided, this unit was actually purchased on the first viewing. This was thanks to the sense of calm the homeowner felt upon stepping inside.
A tree-lined view from the living room
One of the main reasons the unit embodied a sense of comfort for the homeowner was its view. Overlooking a park, it offers a serene outlook of greenery. The spaciousness of the interior is further enhanced by the off-white paint chosen for the walls.
Given the moniker “Starbucks”, the long counter by the window provides a scenic view of the surroundings whilst typing away at work or enjoying a nice spot of tea.
While most homeowners might prefer a more traditional square or rectangular layout for easier spatial planning, these homeowners didn’t find the layout troublesome at all. In fact, they feel the ample space in the home more than makes up for its unconventional shape. The homeowner also credits the smooth renovation planning process to working closely with his interior designer throughout.
The rounded sofa adds a cosy touch as it seems to “hug” its occupants. Its curved shape also complements the unique angled layout of the home, transforming what some might see as an awkward design into a stylish feature.
An angled, yet spacious dining and kitchen area with a minibar
The kitchen offers ample space, perfectly suited to the homeowner’s love for hosting. The island table serves a dual purpose, functioning both as part of the kitchen and as a workspace for other activities, such as practicing his budding flower arrangement business.
Plenty of lighting ensures the space is bright and comfortably lit, adding to the cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
In line with the homeowner’s penchant for entertaining, there’s also a minibar stocked with a curated selection of alcohol. Cleverly designed within a nook, the space features built-in shelving to showcase his preferred spirits, while the stylishly angled bar counter sits conveniently beside it.
The spacious interiors provide ample room for decor, with plenty of art adorning the walls. However, the homeowner’s favourite piece is the Kartell Trullo container, which he proudly shares was shipped directly from Italy.
With its vibrant, eye-catching colours and unique design, the container takes pride of place as the centrepiece of the dining table.
A perfume niche in the bedroom
The bedroom itself is similarly brightly lit, with a comforting cream palette. It is also home to the homeowner’s perfume collection.
