They say that the only difference between clutter and collection is a nice display, and as hobbies such as collecting figurines continue to be on the rise locally, it’s a lesson that more and more Singaporeans have to learn the hard way. But what if you’re not content with rows upon rows of your hard-earned collection languishing in clear display boxes and cabinets?
As it happens, LEGO is teaming up with IKEA to serve up some solid display inspo. From 5th-30th June 2025, you get to see curated LEGO sets expertly styled in real homes—or as real as IKEA homes get.

To encourage homeowners to incorporate LEGO sets into their home decor, the Danish toy company roped in Singaporean interior stylist Priscilla Tan, who goes by @StyledbyPT on Instagram.

Illustrated by a series of renders based on 3 personas—Nature Lovers, Pop Culture Collectors, and Art Enthusiasts—she dished tips on how to style curated LEGO sets in playful yet sophisticated ways.
For example, if your shelf display is too messy for your liking, try re-jigging the set-up. In Priscilla Tan’s words, it helps to treat each shelf as a mini vignette.

Start by placing tall objects and books to add height, layer in texture in the form of plants or trinket boxes, then finish off with a contrasting and eye-catching piece such as the LEGO Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook.

Try reserving an entire shelf for a large statement piece that acts as an anchor. This will immediately catch the eye of the viewer, so that the surrounding smaller items on the other shelves serve as a frame and the overall display looks structured and deliberate.

Colour-blocking is another great way to create cohesion, especially if you have multiple large pieces in your collection. Keep your walls and floors in neutral tones and add pops of colour through accents such as your furniture, bedding, and decor pieces.
“Stick to 3-4 key tones, and repeat them in different textures across furniture, art, and soft furnishings,” Priscilla advises.

“When styling open shelves, mix vertical and horizontal elements. Stack books, lean artwork, and vary object heights [while leaving] some breathing room, keeping the display curated and not cluttered. Use strong shapes like circles […] for contrast, and anchor the palette with pops of saturated colour. A unique artwork like the Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers [LEGO set] also helps to add texture to the space,” adds Priscilla.
