Taehyung and Jin of BTS both bought multi-million dollar luxury apartments in Seoul earlier this year and paid upfront in cash.

Over the years, BTS members have established themselves as savvy real estate investors in Seoul’s luxury property market. The group collectively lived at Hannam The Hill from 2017 to 2022, a residence that clearly left an impression on the members’ investment strategies. Leader Namjoon, otherwise also known as RM, purchased a unit there for KRW4.9 billion in 2019 before upgrading to a KRW6.3 billion apartment at Nine One Hannam in 2021.

That same year, fellow member Jimin also acquired a unit in the same complex. More recently, their youngest member Jungkook gave the BTS ARMY a glimpse of his landed home on livestream.

Now, two more members of the global K-pop sensation have flexed their financial prowess by acquiring luxury properties in Seoul’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, with both transactions completed entirely in cash.

BTS’s V, better known as Kim Taehyung to the BTS ARMY, recently completed the purchase of a luxury apartment at The Penthouse Cheongdam (PH129) in Seoul’s affluent Cheongdam-dong neighborhood. According to a report by South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun

Taehyung completed the purchase on 17th September 2025, closing the apartment for KRW14.2 billion and paying the full amount in cash. Reportedly, his 82 pyeong (~2917.82 sqft) residence features five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Completed in 2020, PH129 is an exclusive property with only 29 duplexes in the building, spanning 6 underground floors and 20 storeys above ground. Each apartment is said to have windows measuring 6m by 11m, offering unbeatable panoramic views of the Han River.

Even better, the ceiling height is a whopping 6.6m—a feature designed to “enhance the sense of openness”, according to the project’s press release. The complex is home to several high-profile figures, including actors Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, professional golfer Park In-bee, and celebrity math lecturer Hyun Woo-jin.

Jin’s 3rd strategic investment at Hannam The Hill

Not to be outdone, fellow BTS member Jin has expanded his real estate portfolio with a third purchase at the prestigious Hannam The Hill complex. He recently acquired a 243.201 sqm apartment for KRW17.5 billion won, once again paid entirely in cash.

Talk about playing Monopoly in real life—this marks Jin’s third strategic investment in the luxury complex. The eldest BTS member kicked off his Hannam The Hill shopping spree in July 2019 with a 233 sqm unit for KRW4.49 billion, then went back for seconds to snag another 206 sqm unit that November for KRW4.27 billion.

Thanks to Seoul’s red-hot real estate market, his profit from those two earlier purchases is speculated to be over KRW10 billion—if he’s sold those apartments. All in all, it’s not a bad return on investment for Mr. Worldwide Handsome.

Both transactions have garnered significant attention in South Korea’s entertainment and real estate industries, not only for their staggering price tags but also for the fact that BTS’s Taehyung and Jin paid in full without financing.

The purchases come as BTS prepares for their highly anticipated full-group reunion and comeback. The group is also reportedly working on new music for a 2026 return, complete with a world tour.

These real estate investments demonstrate the BTS members’ savvy financial planning and their commitment to building long-term wealth beyond their music careers. As Seoul’s luxury property market continues to appreciate, both Taehyung and Jin’s strategic acquisitions are likely to prove lucrative investments for years to come.
