If you’ve seen the most talked-about Halloween displays in Singapore, chances are they’re on Montreal Road, Lagos Circle or Canada Road in the Sembawang Estate. These leafy colonial-era roads become a spooky spectacle every October: think life-sized skeletons, creepy clowns, cobwebs, and entire homes lit up for the candy-hunting crowd.

The setup has become a tradition, with residents here consistently going big. The same roads featured heavy displays in previous years, and indicators of decor already going up, social-posts surfacing suggest they’ll do it again this year.
So although we’re working off “tradition + hype” rather than an official programme, visiting these streets is a strong bet.

Watten Estate in Bukit Timah has long been a favourite among Halloween regulars. Last year, the streets were lined with giant inflatable ghouls, and creepy photo ops that wouldn’t look out of place in a theme park. It’s the kind of neighbourhood where residents go all out, every front yard becomes part of the show, and you can feel the buzz from blocks away.
Families from nearby neighbourhoods often drop by just to admire the creativity, and kids can spend hours roaming from door to door collecting sweets. If you’re planning to drop by, you can follow this link to see which houses are participating in the decorations!

On top of that, the Watten Residents’ Committee (RC) runs its own Halloween bash at the Residents’ Hub, featuring a haunted house ($3 entry), hub games, temporary tattoos, and goodie bags for the little ones.
So, while the estate’s trick-or-treat trails bring out the neighbourhood charm, the RC event adds an extra dose of community fun, two different vibes, but all part of the same spooky spirit.

Opera Estate doesn’t just do Halloween, it owns it. Every year, the quiet streets of Siglap turn into a mini movie set, complete with glowing pumpkins, fog machines, and the occasional skeleton hanging off a gate like it pays rent. Easties really know how to throw a Halloween party, and Opera Estate proves it year after year.
