A balcony or patio is a perfect space to unwind in your own home while still getting plenty of fresh air. But with Singapore’s temperamental weather and the abundance of bugs that seem to love human companionship, zip blinds are a near-necessity. Whether you’re looking for protection against the elements or just a little more privacy, here are 6 zip blind suppliers you can check out.

1. LeGate Singapore: UltraZip range from manual to panoramic

LeGate Singapore offers a wide range of home additions, from gates and grilles to awnings and roller blinds. But what stands out is their UltraZip Outdoor Blinds, offering reliable protection from the elements.

Made from durable acoustic fabric, not only do these blinds help reduce the sun’s harsh glare, they also provide solid soundproofing. They run on aluminium alloy tracks, and an integrated UltraZip Guide system which keeps them wrinkle-free.
With its heavy-duty bottom bar, your blinds will remain taut and presentable regardless of any extreme weather. They can be operated manually, with the provided remote control, or through any smart home setup.
The material’s antimicrobial technology makes it harder for mould and mildew to form on its waterproof surface, crucial for Singapore’s rainy season. They also come with a rain guard and rain sensor. No more sprinting to the balcony every time the sky opens up━this smart automated system handles all that for you.
Homeowners do recommend allowing the fabric to fully dry before raising the blinds again to prevent a build-up of dirt, but this is a small caveat in the grand scheme of things.
Having earned 11 internationally recognised safety certifications, it’s clear why they are the top choice for many homeowners. Their lifetime warranty is another attractive feature, showing their confidence in their own durability and commitment to excellence.

Currently, the LeGate UltraZip Outdoor Blinds are going for only $18.94/sqft as part of their October sale (U.P. $27.94). Alternatively, upgrading to the UltraZip Duo costs an extra $10/sqft, which comes with an extra layer of insect mesh to keep out any pesky bugs, plus integrated ambient lighting to add either a warm or cool glow to the space.

Made in Australia with materials from the USA, the Phifer “Phiferglass” fabric provides heat resistance and 99% UV protection, highly effective at reducing glare and lowering temperatures.

3. The Curtain Boutique: authentic ZipTrak from licensed retailer
We’ve already mentioned The Curtain Boutique as an established name amongst curtain suppliers, and for good reason. With a glowing 4.8 stars across almost 2,000 reviews, they have plenty of endorsements which speak to their commitment to quality.
While their curtains are certainly notable, they are also one of Singapore’s licensed suppliers for custom Ziptrak Outdoor Blinds, capable of transforming any balcony or patio into an expansion of your indoor living space.
Hailing from Australia, Ziptrak has been engineered for effective sun, heat and UV protection, meeting the Melanoma International Foundation standard in blocking up to 90% of UV rays. They also stand up against the wind and rain, keeping your balconies and patios dry even during torrential storms.
The highly durable mesh or PVC material that you can pick from are double welded for superior strength, able to withstand the strongest winds without rattling.
Users have noted that the motorised system sensor is highly sensitive to force, something to consider when living on high floors battered by wind, but its easy manual spring-balance mechanism makes up for this.
For licensed distributors in Singapore, Ziptrak has a 5-year manufacturer warranty on hardware components. The Curtain Boutique has an additional service warranty for installation, calibration and servicing, so you are truly covered in all regards.
Custom Ziptrak can get pricey, with installation costs ranging from $2,000 for a small balcony, to $6,000 for a terrace or landed house. That said, Lemon8 user @greygrey.titu, speaking as a homeowner, calls the Ziptrak motorised blinds “expensive, but worth it”. The additional coverage from purchasing through a licensed supplier like The Curtain Boutique only adds to that value.
For buyers who are struggling to weigh all the different customisation options, The Curtain Boutique has a helpful guide outlining price ranges, differences in material , and even MCST guidance. Aside from Ziptrak blinds, a showroom visit would be a good one-stop-shop to outfit your whole home with any curtains or blinds you may need.
Real homeowner review: “Everything went smoothly and service was great. They handled everything. Got the full 100% waterproof fabric so that ALL rain is kept out and can also extend the balcony and use AC if needed.” – arfness, HardwareZone

4. Direct Curtain: GST-free upfront pricing
Direct Curtain has an extensive catalogue of both local and overseas brands to choose from, and transparent, GST-free pricing makes the selection process that much easier.
Their home-brand DirectZip is a Singapore-assembled option made from Phifer’s SheerWeave fabric for excellent temperature control, glare reduction and rain protection. While not 100% watertight, it greatly reduces the risk of flooded balconies or patios, and users report being able to sit out comfortably even in moderate rain.
Direct Curtain does warn to expect some distortions over time due to the fabric’s flexible weave material, but its affordable price at only $17.90/sqft makes it easier to overlook these minor shortcomings.

They also offer the Japanese brand ShyZip. While using the same fabric and motor as DirectZip, what sets them apart is their unique fastener system which keeps the fabric firmly secured to the side tracks, ensuring minimal pulling at the material even with harsh winds. This explains the price difference at $21.90/sqft, worth it for the reduced risk of warping blinds.
For both zip blind options, their Dooya motor, brackets and other accessories are covered by a 5-year warranty, and there is a 2-year service warranty for any potential technical difficulties starting from the date of installation.

A free DirectSmart Wi-Fi Motor upgrade is also available with the promo code <DIRECTSMART>, allowing you to connect your blinds to an Alexa or Google Home and operate them hands-free.
Direct Curtain provides free price estimations based on provided measurements. On top of that, they also offer a free mockup service, allowing you to fully envision your future space before making any payment.

With an average rating of 4.5 across all 3 of their showrooms, Secret Furnishing stands out as another local favourite for curtain and blind sourcing. They carry a large variety of international zip blind names, including Toso from Japan, Acacia Fabrics from Belgium, and Hunter Douglas from the US, but what really sets them apart is their exclusive home brand ZipSquare.

Made from 26% polyester and 76% PVC, the ZipSquare 1% openness fabric leaves room for some light to pass through for a partial-outdoor feel, while still remaining protected from the elements. Meanwhile, the 0% openness fabric is highly effective at blocking out light, essentially turning your balcony or patio into a new enclosed room in your home.
Its motorised system can easily connect to the smart home systems Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Alexa, or to its own mobile app or remote control. The built-in weather sensor adds to its convenience, making protecting your outdoor space a truly hands-off experience.
The ZipSquare blinds are currently on promo for $18/sqft (excluding GST) with a minimum of 50sqft per blind. With no installation fee and an 8-year warranty, it’s no wonder Secret Furnishing touts itself for its competitive pricing and lasting experience.

Inspired by Australian engineering, AusZip takes aspects of specialised Australian fabrics and adapts them to a Singaporean context, producing zip blinds, invisible grilles and insect screens suited to high-rise living.

AusZip’s TwinZip blinds offer a dual solution to privacy and pests, all on the same track for added convenience. Its zip blind layer made from Phifer’s SheerWeave fabric comes in 1% or 0% openness to provide a full-weather seal. Its fine mesh screen allows for pleasant breeze to pass through while keeping out insects, letting you enjoy a bug-free balcony.
Its smart options are a notable standout. The motorised zip blinds come with built-in LED lights which can be controlled with the accompanying remote control, AusZip smart app or other smart home providers such as Alexa and Google Home. Its auto-timer feature lets you set it and forget it, so your blinds block out the worst of the afternoon sun every day without a second thought.
Even if you don’t set up that feature, it also comes with a temperature sensor which activates when it gets too hot, ensuring you never have to come back to a home that’s spent all day being broiled by the Singapore sun.
On top of an 8-year warranty and 60-day money back guarantee, AusZip’s motorised zip blinds also come with a 1-year cleaning service to ease the stress of maintenance.
AusZip is a smaller company so installation and maintenance may take slightly longer than those with more manpower employed, but reviews speak highly of their service and commitment to fix any issues which may arise following installation.
