No, this isn’t a scene out of a sci-fi flick, it’s a newly-completed HDB BTO flat in Tengah. Completed in 2025, this futuristic renovation by Jesigns Interior Design takes your regular BTO and transforms it into what feels like a high-tech space capsule.
On the flipside of the usual warm, homely vibes, the homeowners went all-in on electric-blue LED strip lighting, glossy finishes, and bold lines to create a full-on cyberpunk fantasy. The result? A home that looks like it’s been lifted straight out of the future. Let’s dive into the details.

The clever placement of the LED strips gives the room an angular, almost geometric look. By highlighting the walls and ceiling at sharp angles, the design adds layers of dimension, while illuminated niches and nooks break up the space with extra depth and visual interest.

A standout feature here is the flip-down drop-leaf table that helps preserve precious living room space while offering extra flexibility, whether it’s for hosting guests or doubling up as a WFH station.

From another angle, the living room’s indented feature wall steals the spotlight, with a speckled LED feature on the ceiling that mimics the endless expanse of the galaxy. Flanked by 2 illuminated geometric panels, the wall gives the space a high-tech aesthetic, almost like the home is being powered by Tony Stark’s arc reactor.
The living room skips the usual “big lights,” sticking instead to electric blue accent lighting that flows throughout the home—proof that the homeowners were fully committed to their futuristic theme.
Beyond the LED lights, the homeowners opted for cyberpunk spaceship doors to complete the look.

The kitchen seamlessly continues the sci-fi theme with its sleek all-black and grey design, highlighted by the same electric blue track lighting that runs throughout the rest of the home.

In the bedroom, the design stays true to its minimalist vibe, with cabinetry seamlessly blending into the grey walls for a clean, unobtrusive look. The standout feature, however, is the custom bed, which gives the illusion of being suspended off the floor, adding a touch of futuristic elegance and enhancing the overall sleek, modern feel of the room.
