This 1,938sqft “landed” HDB flat evokes some subtle Bridgerton vibes.

As much as people love Japandi and Brutalist homes, there are a few homeowners who can appreciate the opposite end of the spectrum: vintage, cottage-core living. Case in point: this HDB terrace house in Kallang that was put on the market in early September 2024.

Not only are HDB terrace flats already exceedingly rare—only 285 units were ever built—this corner terrace unit is also exceptionally large at 1,938sqft. If you want to peek into one of these unique HDB flats that are almost like landed homes, here’s one that you can buy after admiring it on your screen.

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a large living room with white walls and white marble floors. Slim black rafters on the sloped ceiling give it some contrast and make the space feel taller than it should be.

Most of the furniture, including the TV console, coffee table, sideboard, and sofa has a vintage, baroque style to it. There are even ornate chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling, a feature not often seen in typical HDB flats.

If you were to buy this HDB terrace, you’d be glad that the space has been well maintained so it’s in a move-in ready state.

Across the living room is an open dry kitchen that has more baroque details, including shaker-style cabinets adorned with motifs that give it a pizzazz typical cabinets lack.

The lighting in this room also fits the theme, with a chandelier providing decorative lighting while under-cabinet lamps provide task lighting for the countertop. But fret not, unlike the olden days, there are modern appliances including an oven and refrigerator.

You might have also noticed that there is no stove in this dry kitchen, as the cooking area has been relegated to the outdoor wet kitchen so this ornate space doesn’t get overwhelmed with fumes and oil splashes.

Bathroom with gilded mirrors & extravagant sinks

This HDB terrace flat has 2 bathrooms, both of which fit the theme to a T but not in an overwhelming way. A gilded golden mirror flanked by 2 sconces is the statement piece of the vanity, and the light marble countertop sink ties it all together.

Little details like the handles of the vanity cupboard, and the marble tiles on the walls of the shower, add to the gilded age vibes of the bathroom.

Location of Jalan Ma’mor

For all of its countryside ambience, the home is most definitely not located in the ulu parts of Singapore. It’s just right off the Pan Island Expressway in the Kallang/Whampoa enclave.

However, as convenient as that may sound, Jalan Ma’mor is quite far off from the main hub of Kallang, and neither is it near Toa Payoh. If you don’t drive, you might have to add 10-20 minutes to your transit times.

Even if you do, you should know that these HDB terrace flats do not come with a driveway, unlike private landed homes. The streets of Jalan Ma’mor are lined with parallel parking spots, plus one larger open-air parking lot around the corner.
