Tiles are the cornerstone of any home renovation, serving versatile functionality and aesthetic appeal in living areas, bathrooms and kitchens. While many Singaporeans turn to popular local tile suppliers such as Hafary or Lian Seng Hin Trading Co, others often find that the prices might be beyond  their renovation budget range.

For homeowners looking to stretch their dollar, tile shopping in JB may just be the perfect solution. Whether you’re looking for a sleek modern aesthetic or a unique standout design, there’s definitely a good deal to be found at these 5 tile shops in JB, where prices are as low as $0.53 per tile.

Jubin BMS – Hafary-style tiles for a third of the price

Hafary enthusiasts, rejoice—a visit to Jubin BMS in Johor Bahru could significantly slash renovation costs. While the selection at Jubin BMS might not be as extensive as Hafary’s, similar-looking tiles from the shop in JB can cost 2 or 3 times less than their Hafary counterparts.

According to Lemon8 user @gohhomeandchow, who spent S$190 at Jubin BMS for the same number of tiles that would have cost S$914 in Singapore, the substantial savings made the extra effort of traveling to JB and arranging delivery well worth it.

Meanwhile, @supermarket.date’s price comparison revealed that 60x60cm porcelain tiles cost only $1.50-2.50psf at Jubin BMS, compared to $3.50-4.50psf from retailers in Singapore.

Unlike shops in Singapore, Jubin BMS does not provide free tile samples. However, upon request, the shop may allow customers to purchase single tile samples of shortlisted designs to bring back home for physical comparison. Further liaising can be done via WhatsApp, and the final online payment can be transferred remotely.

Additionally, homeowners should note that Jubin BMS only sells tiles by the box rather than by square foot or piece. The store also offers a specialised Singapore delivery service – larger purchases may even qualify for free delivery.
