Every time IKEA launches a new collection, we find ourselves on the edge of our seats. Just a couple of months ago, we were blessed with the “IKEA x Gustaf Westman” collection, and it was nothing short of a treat. This time around, IKEA has released 4 new collections, just in time for Chinese New Year!
Here’s an overview of what each collection has to offer:
OMMJÄNGE collection: Whimsical Scandinavian

Said to draw its inspiration from Swedish folklore, you’ll see pastel pops all over items in the OMMJÄNGE collection. Dare we term this whimsical Scandi?

Our favourite items from the lot are the OMMJÄNGE Drop-leaf table ($329), which features a solid light wood top and gorgeous queen blue legs. Pair it with the OMMJÄNGE chair ($145), and you have a perfect dining set that packs in some serious Scandinavian vibes.
SMÖRFISK collection: English cottage

While not your typical rustic cottagecore, the SMÖRFISK collection is cottagecore indeed, just the English countryside kind. This small collection of 7 items, mainly dinnerware and accessories, will help transform your dining table into a delicate setting, perfect for some Earl Grey tea and biscuits.

Don’t miss the SMÖRFISK tablecloth ($24.90) in block-printed floral and their SMÖRFISK striped place mats ($9.90/2 pieces).
DOFTRIPS collection: Green thumb paradise

Budding horticulturist be enamoured. The DOFTRIPS collection sees your regular black and white plastic plant pots and challenges you to reinvent your HDB corridors with colour with their DOFTRIPS plant pots (from $7.90).
The collection has a smattering of other gardening-related items like the DOFTRIPS self-watering insert ($12.90/2 pieces), the DOFTRIPS growing set ($18.90), watering cans ($16.90) and more!
MÄVINN collection: Bright & bold natural textures

In our humble opinion, the MÄVINN collection of 16 is the jungalow you never knew you needed in your life. From handwoven rattan baskets, placemats, and lamp shades, each item makes a bold statement with subtle pops of bold colours.

Cute in its own right, the collection is made even more appealing by the fact that some of the items, like the MÄVINN cushion cover ($32.90), are the result of the handiwork of 305 Syrian refugees, all using traditional embroidery techniques!
