The median fresh graduate salary in Singapore is $4,313, based on the annual graduate employment survey in 2024. And if you save all that money—after accounting for CPF contributions—for just over 13 months, you just might be able to afford a one-month stay at this $45k/month penthouse located just 8 minutes away from Orchard Boulevard MRT.
Old-school condo that feels surprisingly modern

To be exact, the duplex penthouse is located at 61 Grange Road, which is home to the Beverly Hill—yes, singular— freehold condominium complex. The condo itself was completed in 1983, making it older than Mark Zuckerberg, Prince Harry, and Avril Lavigne.

With 7,556sqft of space spanning two floors, this behemoth of a penthouse has room enough for 5 ensuite bedrooms, a private lift, and even a private pool. According to the listings on Propertyguru, the Orchard duplex penthouse was designed and renovated by Bedmar & Shi in 2013.

Despite its eye-watering price tag, the penthouse unit is indeed beautifully designed and reminds us of the “Paradise” hotel in Singles Inferno.
On the first floor, a private lift opens up to a foyer and a hallway that leads to the living room, a concept that’s honestly giving 80s chic. Next to the spacious living room is a generous elevated dining room, where occupants can sit down and have terse family dinners like in K-dramas. Envelopes stuffed full of money may or may not be involved too.

Flanking the other side of the living room is a family room, according to the floorplan. While multiple lounge and living areas may seem excessive to us commoners, it’s a pretty good idea to have separate spaces where one can chill out after dramatically confronting your partner for going to Paradise with someone who’s not you—if we’re still running with the Single’s Inferno theme.
Dramatic staircase reminiscent of Jennie’s LA mansion

Of note is the winding staircase in the middle of the unit, which also brings to mind Blackpink Jennie’s rumoured LA mansion.

Next to the staircase is the spacious master bedroom, which is big enough to have a bath tub in its ensuite bathroom, a TV console that doubles as a minibar, a small seating area, bookshelves lining one wall, and what looks to be a walk-in wardrobe.

Adjacent is a small guest room—we say small, but it’s pretty roomy by modern condo standards.

Walk up the stairs and you’ll find two more guest bedrooms. As the layout closely follows that of the first floor, one guest room is significantly larger than the other, functioning more as a second master bedroom.

Outdoor pool that takes up half the second floor

Also occupying the second floor is a family lounge and a secondary living-cum-dining space. As it looks out to the pool, this area is a great chill-out spot for days when you want to enjoy the sun and view but don’t want to brave the heat. There’s even a niche that looks to be the perfect size for a barbecue pit.

About half of the second floor is taken up by the private pool and terrace area, where an awning provides shade and shelter from the elements. A statement stone wall blocks what looks like the utility room from view, ensuring that you don’t have to think about plebeian matters such as pool maintenance while having a heart-to-heart with your significant other.

Throughout the penthouse, the generous use of lush, dark wood, plush fabric, as well as interesting textures creates a sense of luxury that makes the place feel so expensive, we scarcely dare breathe in it. And despite being renovated 12 years ago, the design is timeless enough to still feel modern in 2025—something to take note of when you renovate your own home.
Orchard penthouse that resembles Paradise in Single’s Inferno
This $45k/month duplex penthouse also happens to be for sale, and it can be yours for a cool $2m. So, if you fancy living the Single’s Inferno Paradise life on a more permanent basis, you know what to do.
